I LOVE tuna noodle casserole! I would prefer to make it with peas but a couple of my family members would refuse to eat it if they knew it has peas in it. This weekend I decided I was going to make it without them. Instead of using peas I used the French’s Crispy Fried Onions instead. It came out delicious so I thought I would share my Tuna Noodle Casserole Without Peas Recipe

For my tuna noodle casserole recipe without peas recipe I used both cream of mushroom and cream of chicken because I like my casseroles to have lots of flavor! You could also try some of the other creamy type soups like the cream of brocolli soup if you want to experiment in the kitchen.

I also used two different kinds of cheese because I like my casseroles to be cheesy! I bought a mixture of Colby Jack and Monterey Jack Cheese that worked perfect for this dish! I used a cup of cheese but you could choose to use more or less depending on how much you like cheese. 🙂

It is scrumptious, I added the cheese into the casserole before baking. I served it with peas as a side, because we like them. I have made this several times and it’s my favorite tuna recipe.

I use the little 16oz cans and I mix have cheese inside with soup mixture and I put the other half on top before I add the topping.

My own editing… I omit the breadcrumb topping making its dry an flavorless, in my opinion. I use french crispy fried onions i put 1/ cup inside the mixture and i put 3/4 or rest of container on the very top and put back in for 5 to 10 minutes. they make this meal…..outrageously delicious, my boy wouldn’t touch peas or tuna but this casserole changed his mind and it’s his absolute favorite. hits the spot!!! 5 STARS ty for sharing.

The recipe called for cheese but didn’t explain what to do with it in the instructions so I just put about half of what it called for on top after pouring and mixing sauce mixture with noodles. I used the biggest cans of tuna . Also, the melted butter/planko bread crumb topping didn’t seem like enough, so I covered the top with additional planko bread crumbs for the additional 5 minutes of baking. The topping came out nice and crispy. It was really good! Really appreciated the French fried onions and no peas idea!
